The GIS Division and the IT Department for the City of Westfield, IN have merged into the Department of Informatics. The departments have merged to help the City reap more value from its investments in technology (IT & GIS). It will also provide more opportunities for staff to expand their professional abilities. Informatics is an emerging field of practice focused on the design of systems within a specific profession or specialty. This presentation highlights how informatics is used for the City of Westfield to evaluate projects, deliver services, and manage operations. Also presented are the related GIS and Microsoft SharePoint portals.
