AbstractAutomated Change Notification Keeps Everyone in the Know! Track: Technology Integration Author(s): Keith Stump, Tyler Huehmer, Jeff Barnett, Aaron Fischer, Conn McAnally Spatial data consumers and editors can work more efficiently if notified when relevant data of interest are modified by others. This is especially true in Knox County, TN where different departments edit interrelated spatial data such as parcels and addresses. An automated data change notification system was developed to overcome limitations of existing human-based systems. The system integrates Oracle and SDE technologies with custom ArcObjects tools and Dot Net Nuke allowing users to subscribe and be notified of specific types of data changes. The system supports workflows that depend informally on data edits made by others such as County Health Department notification of City Engineering storm system inspections. Subscribers receive an e-mail listing changes and a hyperlink to the web mapping application to locate and review the change. Subscribers with ArcMap are provided a reviewer utility to locate and track the status of changes they have subscribed to.
