YLWD Enterprise GIS on the Road to Success
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater

The Yorba Linda Water District’s mission is to provide reliable, high quality water and sewer services in an environmentally responsible manner at the most economical cost to customers.
The District identified GIS as a valuable team player in achieving the mission.
YLWD selected Enterprise GIS based on Esri’s ArcGIS Server as the central hub for access to information.
The District has carefully planned the GIS starting with a needs assessment study and has implemented the different components like data conversion and maintenance, implementation of ArcGIS Server, viewer, and a document management system.
The paper discusses the District’s journey through the various stages implementation, adoption of GIS by the staff in workflows, the lessons learned and the benefits achieved.
