Geospatial Network-Centric Operations for the Warfighter (GeoNOW)

One of the Department of Defense’s top national security priorities is the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT.) The United States 7th Army top operational priorities are GWOT and its “Transformation” to Joint, Combined and Coalition Expeditionary operations. Achieving Information Dominance is one of the primary means in which 7th Army will win its Global War on Terrorism. The 7th Army has reached a critical “tipping point” in its transformation of theater geospatial operations. Traditional geospatial support structures cannot keep pace with today’s Warfighter information needs. The need for timely, relevant and accurate information about the terrain is essential to achieving geospatial information dominance. 7th Army Engineer and Intelligence communities propose an innovative partnership to implement the Geospatial Network-centric Operations for the Warfighter (GeoNOW) concept. The GeoNOW concept will provide timely, accurate, relevant and consistent geospatial information to every 7th Army Commander, Soldier and Battle Command System.
