Leveraging Benefits through Enterprise GIS Deployment

The Port is engaged in a multi-year implementation of ArcServer GIS aimed at achieving a wide variety of business benefits. This second generation GIS implementation achieves many business benefits, is more sustainable, and provides a much better return on investment. The presentation will focus on how we designed and focused the deployment on our goals and business case and what we have achieved versus our first generation deployment of GIS. We hope it will provide useful information for those interested in evolving their GIS. Some of the topics covered will include: building organizational consensus, obtaining budget and executive support, organizing for success, and maintaining communication and participation.
