Building a Cadastral Fabric for Transmission Utilities

Power delivery organizations rely upon accurate survey and land records to build and maintain transmission right of ways. The release of the survey analyst extension for ArcGIS has enabled surveyors to utilize a common schema to store their coordinate geometry data. For Alabama Power Company, this means a standard workflow can be designed to manage parcel data, survey pins and other documentation for land acquisition and management. This presentation will address the challenges encountered while standing up the cadastral fabric and provide insight into improved workflows for projection and survey crews.
