Modeling Agricultural Tailwater Return from Lidar for the Shasta River
Track: Water Resources
Author(s): David LaPlante

In early 2008 LIDAR data was flown and acquired by the Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District with funding through the State of California State Water Resources Control Board as part of the Shasta River Tailwater Reduction Demonstration and Implementation Project for primary agricultural zones in the Shasta Valley.

These data were used to model agricultural tailwater return to the primary streams in the system given existing water use and irrigation practices to evaluate water quality impacts and serve as a resource for planning agricultural remediation projects to reduce impacts to an important anadromous system.
