AbstractIRRIS, an Incident Management and Emergency Response Tool Track: Disaster Management and Emergency Response Author(s): Darren Guttmann The United State Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) all used IRRIS technology as their primary information source for tracking priority shipments for hurricane relief efforts during 2008, including the tracking of generators, water, fuel tanker trucks, and evacuating buses. IRRIS (an Intelligent Road, Rail, ocean, and soon air, Information System) provides In-Transit Visibility, near-real-time weather, traffic information, and live traffic cameras displayed on a Web-map based interface. IRRIS’ numerous In-Transit Visibility data sources include the U.S. Army ITV Server, Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS), and FEMA Total Asset Visibility (TAV). The 450 geospatial data layers available in IRRIS span the world, but the depth of them are in CONUS.
