First Responder Mobile Mapping for a Full-Service Public Safety Agency

For any emergency responder, time is the most critical commodity. It can mean the difference between life and death. Broward Sheriff’s Office, a full-service public safety agency, embarked on the largest in-vehicle mapping solution for first responders. Leveraging the ArcGIS Mobile and ArcLogistic platforms, Bergmann Associates assisted BSO in developing and deploying a complete mobile mapping solution called First Responder Mobile. This soluton interfaces with the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System’s Call for Service in both patrol and fire-rescue vehicles to provide incident location maps and aerial photography while generating recommended routes and spoken directions to enable the responders to quickly reach their destinations.
This presentation provides a project overview of how the in-vehicle mobile mapping soluton was designed, developed and deployed in nearly 2,000 public safety vehicles. Learn how BSO has leverage its Esri Enterprise GIS to meet the mobile mapping needs of a full service public safety agency.
