Coast Guard Enterprise GIS: Enterprise-wide Solutions for the Coast Guard

The Enterprise GIS program was established to support the core missions of the United States Coast Guard by supplying critical GIS data, services, and functionality to a wide variety of Coast Guard systems and users. Specifically, the Enterprise GIS has developed numerous enterprise-wide solutions for the Coast Guard, including: Geospatial data warehouse for managing and serving vast amounts of GIS data to Coast Guard programs and users. Also, Server-based geoservices, including a tracking service with the ability to display real-time and historical vessel positions and tracks. As well as thin client and browser-based applications with the capability to display and manipulate data from many applications and services
This presentation will discuss how the Enterprise GIS team integrated a variety of client-server technologies into advanced geoprocessing tools and functions available to all Coast Guard users. Specific technologies addressed will include web services, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Explorer, and ArcGIS JavaScript.
