National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDPlus) User Tools

Numerous tools that support the use of the National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDPlus) have been developed since NHDPlus was first released in 2006. This presentation describes the current suite of available tools which fall into two broad categories: NHDPlus Application Tools and NHDPlus Data Build/Refresh tools. The NHDPlus tools have been developed under EPA contracts and through sponsorship from other sources. Some of these tools were initially developed to support pesticide risk assessments and have found wide application to other water resource analysis efforts. NHDPlus tools operate on the desktop and as web services. NHDPlus Application Tools include surface water network navigation tools, a set of Basin Delineator tools, a Catchment Attribute Allocation and Accumulation Tool and an Aquatic Exposure Tool. NHDPlus Data Development tools are designed to assist in refreshing existing NHDPlus data with improved/corrected input datasets and for building NHDPlus from scratch with high resolution input datasets.
