AbstractCoastal Georgia Elevation Project Track: Remote Sensing Imagery Author(s): Chris Chalmers Coastal Regional Commission is working to bring high level elevation data to the Georgia Coast through the Coastal Georgia Elevation Project (CGEP). The CRC is building a coalition of Cities, Counties, Educational Institutions, State Agencies and Federal Departments. This group has been working out technical specifications for a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) flight, hearing from vendors who provide LiDAR, meeting with those that have LiDAR experience, and assessing the needs for future digital products to be generated as part of this undertaking. This acquisition for current LiDAR derived high-resolution elevation data is for the full extent of Coastal Georgia, approximately 50 miles inland, excluding counties with existing data. The project area will consist of approximately 5703 square miles. This project is within the Atlantic Coastal Priority Area as defined by the National Geospatial Program (NGP) and supports homeland security requirements of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
