Maintaining Geospatial Datasets with Change Detection
Track: Remote Sensing Imagery
Author(s): Gregory Koeln

Image change analysis is the key component to updating geospatial data sets. This presentation will demonstrate the use of 25 years of Landsat imagery to identify changes for updating geospatial datasets at significantly lower costs than conventional methods. Correlated Land Change (CLC) uses MDA EarthSat’s patented Cross Correlation Analysis change detection algorithm to identify permanent cultural changes. This technique eliminates false changes created from clouds, terrain shadows, crop rotation, and other image artifacts. The change analysis product produced by CLC provides the year when the development occurred. Learn how image change detection significantly reduces update latency and cost.
