Abstract

Geospatial Requirements Definition Process (GRDP) within the Air National Guard
Track: GIS Organization, Management, and Implementation
Authors: Greg Turner, Steven Kestler

Capturing and analyzing enterprise-wide requirements can often be an immense challenge to IT and geospatial projects. The Air National Guard GeoIntegration Office (GIO) has adopted a methodology known as the Geospatial Requirements Definition Process (GRDP) for the purpose of discovering, analyzing and validating enterprise needs of the Air National Guard.

The GRDP assists the GIO in transforming enterprise needs into formalized requirements, which allows the GIO to provide oversight to requirements analysis & management, a methodology to grow the ANG Geospatial Enterprise Architecture, and the ability to generate reporting of common enterprise needs to promote collaboration and sharing of resources.

This presentation will highlight the components and methodology of the ANG GIO Geospatial Requirements Definition Process and touch upon the roles that the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework and component models have within the GRDP method.
