AbstractDesigning Large Cached Map Services with DeLorme World Data Track: Cartography and Map Production Author We all know that the fastest way to serve maps on the ArcGIS platform is through a cached map service. DeLorme took its new World Base Map vector data with consistent coverage of key map features across the world and cached it to render at ten different zoom levels. In this session we will walk through the steps to get our cache up and running on ArcGIS Online-no small feat with 30 gigabytes of data. Tips and tricks we learned along the way will be discussed as well as best practices for display and backend setup of the caching service. Anyone interested in cached map services for internal use or on AGOL will benefit from hearing our experiences. We will also go over how you can get access to this data and what kind of information is shown in the cache. Townsend Crum DeLorme P.O.
