At issue is balancing a reliable water supply and restoring a viable Delta ecosystem. GIS is a major tool in analysis of this issue. Documenting the variety of analysis being performed and not only the data involved is critical for organizations preparing and reviewing plans for the Delta. The ArcGIS geoprocessor and metadata tools provide opportunities to effectively document the processes followed.
