Track: Archaeology
Authors: Haley Roe

The incorporation of data derived from in-field and online sources can aid in the identification, excavation, and interpretation of archaeological sites. These tools not only provide professionals with innovative methods with which to interpret their data, but also aids in the presentation of archaeological processes and site interpretation that can be accessible to all audiences. This presentation will provide a cursory overview of the bevy of GIS resources that can be used at all stages of the archaeological process. From survey, to testing, to mitigation, through interpretation and reporting, the use of interpretation and cartographic depiction in it's various forms is a valuable resource for cultural-resource professionals, clients, newsmedia, and laypersons alike.
