AbstractLevel 3 Synchronizes Fiber Data with Mobile GIS ApplicationTrack: Telecommunications and Location-Based Services Author Telecommunications companies rely on their GIS to increase efficiency across the enterprise by allowing for the better design and management of networks. As telecom's merge and grow, the need for data capture and correction becomes imminent. In this abstract, we will examine how Level 3 Communications set up a geodatabase to accommodate data from multiple legacy systems of acquired telecoms. Then, we will discuss how Level 3 utilized Esri and 3-GIS mobile technology to capture and correct the fiber data, giving field technicians a user-friendly tool that could easily sync with the GIS system Level 3 had in place.
