AbstractIntegrating Route Optimization and Tracking for a Turkish DistributorTrack: Logistics Author In this talk, we present results of an ArcLogistics implementation for food products distribution in Turkey coupled with a custom-developed vehicle tracking application. The goal of this implementation is two-fold: to create optimized routes using optimization tools offered by ArcLogistics and hence reduce logistics costs, and to compare actual vs. planned routes using tracking information from the field. On the planning side, preliminary results indicate potential savings due to route optimization being as high as 40%. On the tracking side, the system is expected to provide management with tools for reporting the efficiency of the fleet in comparison to what is planned in ArcLogistics.
