Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) is a regional planning agency providing professional planning services to Northeastern Massachusetts. Established as a public, nonprofit organization, MVPC is chartered to promote the orderly development of the 15 cities and towns of the region. As such, MVPC is committed to upholding a friendly business climate in the region. In support of its mission, MVPC has developed a unique, interactive, economic development website, Merrimack Valley Means Business (www.mvmb.biz), wherein any building/lot in the metropolitan area can be queried, viewed close-up and analyzed from multiple oblique perspectives. The website utilizes Esri's ArcGIS Server coupled with an ASP-based web interface to deliver mapping and database content. ArcGIS web services have been integrated with Google maps to produce a rich, dynamic interactive information system. Merrimack Valley Means Business is a pioneering concept for new and existing businesses and was made possible by leveraging the power of ArcGIS Server.
