AbstractMapping Foreclosure Rates and TrendsTrack: Retail/Real Estate Author Pueblo County, Colorado, has suffered a high rate of foreclosures in the last couple of years. With a combined population of roughly 105,000 people, the City of Pueblo and Pueblo West have felt the effects of the down economy and poor housing market. To determine high foreclosure concentration areas or 'hot spots', ArcGIS 9.3.1 was used in conjunction with Spatial Analyst to display these current trends and help reveal specific patterns. By using two different data sets, foreclosures and city/county zoning, we were able to create a map showing Percent of Homes Foreclosed upon within the City of Pueblo and surrounding areas. From here, we were able to take it a step further and isolate the top five lenders, associated with high foreclosure rates and specific areas associated with them.
