GeoWeb: The District of North Vancouver's GIS Website

Implementing the latest Web GIS technology has allowed the District of North Vancouver to develop data and feature rich web-mapping applications for the public. Simple yet focussed applications allow users to view crime, property, hazard, census, and historical information; each with a distinctive interface. Applications such as these are now part of the newly designed GeoWeb - the District of North Vancouver's GIS website.
Building multiple web-mapping applications requires a strong development strategy. Adopting an agile development method helped to foster the necessary knowledge and technical skills required to design and develop web-mapping applications in-house. By leveraging Esri's ArcGIS Server technology along with the Flex API and Adobe Flash the District of North Vancouver has created a solid development platform which should support its application needs for years to come.
