AbstractUtilization of Large Amounts of High-Resolution Seabed Terrain DataTrack: Pipeline and Gas Utilities Author Statoil collects large amounts of bathymetric data on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The data are mainly used for planning purposes, deployment and inspections of sub-sea installations and pipelines. One survey may consist of several hundred high resolution grids (10cm) in water depths down to 1000m. These high resolution data also reveals new ways of controlling and verifying subsea installations. Communicating engineering challenges to other professions is also an important benefit utilizing these data. Data handling and logistics has been a challenge up to now. Formerly thousands of files were stored on disk and were difficult to retrieve and cumbersome to use. This paper will outline the previous workflow and introduce the rationale, principles and benefits of the new workflow using Esri software.
