AbstractEnterprise Solutions Using Esri SilverlightTrack: Agriculture Author NRCS has released its first online geospatial analysis tool using Esri Silverlight in USDA. The tool called "Map It" was released into production on October 9, 2009 through the Integrated Data for Enterprise Analysis (IDEA. Map It is designed for the non GIS user community. The requirement was to meet the geospatial needs of 80% of NRCS employees. To accomplish this design requirement NRCS worked with over 40 states for a year and a half on the design and UAT testing of Map It. The IDEA team develops the reports and creates data warehouse from the National Conservation Planning Database. Map It uses the filters from the IDEA reports to zoom to the location and data the NRCS employee needs. This provides NRCS employees both tabular reports and interactive geospatial information. IDEA and Map It won 3rd place for "Best Integrated Software" at the Esri International Conference in July 2009.
