AbstractPublic Policy Issues Affecting GIS ProfessionalsTrack: Benefits of GIS Author As GIS applications permeate our organizational and societal workspaces, an increasing number of public issues affect and are affected by what we do. Professional organizations representing the GIS community are being called upon to monitor and advocate for public action as well as to continue being a focus of GIS education.
