This presentation will discuss project aspects that involve the replacement of a 20+ year legacy system and the adoption of a GIS environment as the basis for work and asset management with integration to a Customer Information Management system. We will present the strategy, plan, use cases, and management of change aspects for such a project as it relates to a small to medium business. Aspects of data model development and migration will be discussed which involved use of industry models and best practices with the convergence of real world practical experience. The use of a GIS has brought about positive aspects for the customer service, work management, and compliance assurance areas of the company.
