Abstract

Advancing GIS Integrated Asset Management through a Performance Management Approach
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Storm Water
Authors: Jim Kiles, Scott Kelly

Found in the heart of the Dallas - Fort Worth area, the City of Irving has been developing an asset management system that incorporates business strategies with routine maintenance functions using available technology. This approach builds on an Enterprise Esri GIS enabled maintenance management system both in house and in the field, transforming that system into a meaningful asset management tool incorporating Financial system, Customer Information System, Mobile technology and more.

The objective of this effort was to identify and implement specific performance measures associated with industry best practices.

This presentation will provide attendees with a sampling of the criteria used to define the Asset Management program and Key PErformance Indicators using Esri Enterprise GIS technology and discuss how these practices were decided upon, and the specific value that was gained by the organization from this approach.
