AbstractU.S. Army Military Installation Map Production StrategyTrack: Defense and Intelligence Author Since 2006, the U.S. Army Sustainable Range Program (SRP), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and the Department of the Army G-2 (Intelligence) have collaborated on the production of the Military Installation Map (MIM). The SRP GIS Program has worked closely with NGA and G-2 to standardize symbology and graphics commonly seen on a MIM, while streamlining the MIM production process through the use of Esri based scripts, toolsets and software. The result is a standardized product that provides a "common picture" for warfighters training at Army installations. Printing and stocking of MIMs is managed through NGA and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), thus saving Army SRP resources and providing current and accurate geospatial information to warfighters using our training lands. This presentation will provide an overview of the MIM collaboration effort, and the process by which MIMs are produced, printed, stocked, and ordered.
