Territory is defined as the set of natural systems added to further historical materials imposed by man. It is formed by a complex physical substrate (natural or artificial) and, furthermore, its own use. From this definition, Fibria – one of the world´s largest supplier of pulp to paper market - in partnership with the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) has chosen to study different areas situated in southeastern region of Brazil) seeking, through the use of a database accessed by ArcGIS, to find solutions that are able to subsidize their forestry planning in the medium and long term. Different counties, regional watersheds and conservation areas were utilized as territory analysis in order to create regional scenarios, from its natural features to modifications made by man.
