AbstractNOPIA: GIS Serving Aeronautical Information Management TransitionTrack: Charting and Data Collecting Author Current evolutions in the field of Air Traffic Management have a significant impact on aeronautical information and data which become the cornerstone of safe and efficient cooperation between ground and onboard systems. Information processes and deliverables are subject to increasing quality requirements within a production line where all actions and steps are essential. From the data originator, through the database storage, the flight procedure design, the charting production to its final publication, the whole chain is based on geo-referenced information processing with a high degree of automation ensuring quality, consistency and traceability. The NOPIA project for the French Aeronautical Information Service fits within the scope of this transition from the world of AIS towards the integrated Aeronautical Information Management, key-enabler for enhanced ATM operations. The project has tightly integrated the GIS component in the core system, thanks to the supporting Esri technology. thus paving the way for ambitious ATM programmes.
