CAUSTA: Clifford Algebra-Based Unified Spatial-Temporal Analysis

Building upon Clifford algebra and referring the perspective of Einstein's theory of relativity space and time, we propose a unified spatial-temporal model and the hierarchical spatial-temporal index, they both effectively link with Clifford algebra and can support the construction, retrieval and analysis of the spatial-temporal data under the unified spatial-temporal framework. Based on the geometric and metric operators of Clifford algebra, we construct the algorithms to analyze the spatial structure, the dynamical process and the interactive spatial-temporal relationship. The developed prototype software system: CAUSTA (Clifford Algebra based Unified Spatial-Temporal Analysis), which provide a useful tool for investigating and modeling the distribution characteristics and dynamical process of complex geographical phenomena under the unified temporal-spatial framework.
