AbstractUsing GIS to Manage Change on Construction ProjectsTrack: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Author Even the best scoped project is faced with change orders, delays, client or environmental demands, cost over-runs and other factors simply out of the control of the contractor. The engineers and surveyors at Universal Ensco use GIS solutions to manage change, recover schedule, and preserve budget. Universal Ensco and its clients use integrated ArcServer and ArcDesktop tools built into web-based solutions which allow for each change to be visual referenced, cataloged, valued, placed against schedule and ultimately approved or disapproved. This presentation will highlight the key components of how to tie cost, schedule and change management into a spatial environment and how once that environmental is created, using web architecture to distribute it to project teams spread throughout the globe.
