AbstractThe GeoGuard Initiative: Requirements and TechnologyTrack: Defense and Intelligence Author The breadth of the envisioned GeoGuard community, spanning 54 states, territories and the District of Columbia, as well as the scope of the domestic operations mission, introduces significant challenges to the traditional roles and responsibilities of an enterprise GIS architect. This presentation will describe how architecture frameworks will still be relied upon to define and communicate how technologies are being employed presently as well as how they can assist with assessing the value of new technologies. Furthermore, the presentation will also describe a strategy for how the GeoGuard community can leverage a geospatial data requirements process to better clarify the need and desired outcomes for geospatial technologies for domestic operations.
