Spatially Enabling Outage Communications

Although coastal hurricanes garner a lot of press coverage, ice storms can also inflict massive amount of damage on a Utility. After one such event – which led to over a million customers out of electricity – E.ON. U.S. embarked on an initiative to provide improved storm-related communications to not only external customers and entities, but also internal customers. Learn how E.ON. U.S. took advantage of their existing Microsoft SharePoint environment together with ArcGIS Server to present data including overall Outage Statistics, Estimated Restore Times, Crew and Priority Customer information to their users in a spatially-enabled dashboard, to better support overall damage restoration and communication processes
