The Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program was formed to protect and improve the status of endangered species along the Middle Rio Grande of New Mexico while simultaneously protecting existing and future water uses. With over 17 partners, millions of dollars has gone toward research and management of the River, however, lack of a enterprise data access system has prevented Program management, stakeholders, and researchers from fully accessing, synthesizing, and understanding past research to support current and future research and management. This presentation will present the development of a spatially-, web- enabled database management system that supports both tabular and spatial querying and analysis using custom interfaces and tools. This presentation will focus on the initial needs assessment, development of the database conceptual model, data acquisition and standardization, and the delivery of the production database management system built on ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and ArcGIS Server.
