Abstract

GEOCATMIN: Geological and Mining Cadastre Information System
Track: Mining and Geosciences
Authors: William Hanco Mamani

GEOCATMIN, is the evolution of the intensive use of information technologies that the Geological Survey of Peru has implemented with the purpose of disseminating in a single platform, the large amount of information that has generated in the last 50 years(47 layers). FLEX template has been customized and connected to our Geodatabase (ArcSDE on Oracle 11gR1) which allows us to provide online information about the status of mining rights, their boundaries and overlaps with the restricted areas to mining activity(using SQL functions). Likewise, the metadata registered in the geodatabase has been published on the web natively, and it has been integrated with the pre-existing information systems for updating and online geoprocessing, thus simplifying procedures for the end -user.
Since May 21, 2010, more than 73 countries have visited our website and sought information from GEOCATMIN and more than 10 information systems from other entities use our mapping services, including ONEGEOLOGY.
