Mobilizing a Water Utility with ArcGIS 10 and the iPhone

Loudoun Water has teamed with GeoDecisions to mobilize our workforce leveraging Esri technology and the iPhone. Loudoun Water is the authority in Loudoun County, Virginia for providing water, wastewater and reclaimed water services to 60,000+ connections utilizing a network of over 2,000 pipeline miles. This project leverages ArcGIS 10 Server/Mobile, Apple's iOS and SQL Server to create a total solution for mobilizing and integrating multiple enterprise systems including ArcGIS from Esri, Hansen from Infor, and MUNIS from Tyler Technologies. The pilot phase of this project demonstrates two applications; one to support routine field services activities such as customer turn on/turn off/meter set and the other to support hydrant flushing. The implemented architecture includes a flexible middleware/data warehouse solution that sets the stage for future integration, reporting, and dashboard functionality as well as mobilizing other workflows such as inspections, operations, maintenance, and customer service.
