Abstract

Comprehensive Integrated Land Records Workflow for Pinal County, AZ
Track: Cadastral and Land Records
Authors: Carlos Wilderman, Jennifer Kuchar

Previously, Pinal County maintained two separate parcel maintenance environments: CAD and GIS. Planning & Development calculated addresses manually on paper and then mapped them in their CAD system. Parcel Numbers (APN) were generated in the AS400 with very few rules applied. Previous software migrations, outdated systems, and duplicate data entry propagated errors throughout the CAMA and addressing systems. The county needed a comprehensive workflow to remove duplicate work and integrate the county's GIS, Recorder, CAMA/TAX, Planning & Development, and Permitting systems. Using GIS products the county streamlined workflows and removed redundant work. Integration between county systems maintains integrity of the Assessment, Tax, and Addressing data. The creation of each systems key identifier is done so with rules and validation. The identifiers are passed automatically via integration to remove duplicate work and ensure accuracy. This presentation will benefit any jurisdiction who is looking for a comprehensive integrated landrecords workflow.
