MSD Cincinnati uses its CAGIS Online tool to improve NPDES pretreatment data quality by integrating its iPACS pretreatment system for address validation, field investigations and data sharing. Cincinnati's regional GIS utility assists interagency database coordination which allows data owners to manage their shared data and other agencies to reliably make use of attributes for facilities in which they have a shared interest. This is readily illustrated in MSD's fats, oils and grease control program that seeks to prevent illegal sewer overflows caused by grease blockages. Our City Works sewer maintenance system allows pretreatment investigators access to cleaning and CCTV reports through the GIS Online tool. Access to shared data from our local health districts shows the proximity of licensed food service operations. Combined with an evaluation of the sewer network for low slope sewer segments culminating at a manhole with a 90 degree bend where grease accumulates focuses control efforts.
