Crises Information System with ArcGIS Server

Nowadays climate change is often discussed. Obviously, extreme weather conditions e.g. windstorms or lightning can have a large impact on the infrastructure of an electricity supplier. In times of crises events it's necessary for the crisis management group to quickly get information about the outages and influences on the network. Based on this information the group has the ability to decide which actions can be taken to face the problems.
A small web application based on ArcGIS Server integrates middle voltage network data, outages and weather events. Based on this app, the crisis management gets an overview on the current situation without putting additional pressure to the network control station.
This topic will show how the German utility "Lechwerke AG" merged information from different systems together by using latest ArcGIS Server technology like the JavaScript API and time-aware layers.
