GIS Technology at Polish Airports

GIS is utilized at Wroclaw Airport ensuring a new era of quality in widely understood air transport.In connection with the plans of the airport extension within the TEN-T 2008-PL-92004-S project on "Comprehensive study and technical documentation of development of Wroclaw International Airport " financially aided from the EU TEN-T Fund, there was launched a tender for GIS implementation. Its key prerequisite was to create a basis for further development of the system which would support the project progression. Effective management of the enormous amount of miscellaneous information has been and still is indispensable while designing, building, as well as exploiting, and maintaining airport facilities.
