Abstract

Army Speech & Sketch: Multi-Modal Entry of GeoFeatures
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Authors: Sean Johnson, Craig Oaks

The Adapx CM2C2 (Capturx Multimodal for Command and Control) interface to ArcObjects allows the use of speech and sketch to multi-modally enter units (point features), control measures such as boundaries and phase lines (linear features), and areas (assembly areas, areas of interest, etc.) into a geodatabase. We will examine the underlying speech and sketch recognition technologies and the multi-modal fusion methodology employed to calculate a recognition result to hand off to the underlying ESRI system. The system will be demonstrated in a military planning environment with placement of units and control measures in a COA (Course of Action).
