Abstract

Navy Electronic Security Systems Program Supports OCONUS Enhanced Force Protection
Track: Defense and Intelligence

SPAWAR's Navy Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Program deploys various access control, intrusion detection, and surveillance systems to enhance physical security protection measures for Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) installations. SPAWAR's Navy ESS Program has begun to implement the Tactical Automation Security System (TASS) to provide a common operational installation picture for complex sensor security and immediate visual assessment. TASS integrates Navy ESS sensor and surveillance systems, early warning systems, and emergency duress notification systems to augment personnel resources across the installation. TASS enhances security along the fence line, flight lines and taxiways, storage areas, building exteriors, closed perimeters, and installation boundaries. TASS allows expansion of the security perimeter through integration of physical security systems for more comprehensive threat security assessment. TASS enables synchronized data dissemination to peer and higher echelon systems for more-effective decision making.
