Green building is a broad-based movement to transform the design and operation of built environments. Green building continues to gain attention from real estate investors and developers, and analysts are increasingly demanding robust market data and analytics to answer fundamental questions about market trends and dynamics. Analysts are looking to segment markets by geography and time to answer critical questions about growth rates, market penetration, and trends in specific green building strategies. Many of these issues are addressed in the Green Building information Gateway, a new initiative from the U.S. Green Building Council Research Program. The Gateway is an integrative analytical environment based on ArcServer technology that provides unprecedented views of green market conditions and practice. It provides the ability to identify and analyze comparable green buildings based on specific strategies, policies, and performance criteria.
