New census block and block group demographic and geographic data are now available. Session reviews the structure and content of Census 2010, American Community Survey & Census TIGER 2010 and how to effectively integrate and use these data in geographic information system (GIS) applications. Participants will view use of desktop and online resources available to access and use these data in a GIS strategic and how-to context. These tools will include use of the Census Bureau FactFinder, related Census Bureau TIGER access facilities, Department of Education School District Demographic System among other tools. Learn about integrating detailed subject matter with TIGER geographic resources for GIS thematic mapping and geospatial analysis. Learn how Census TIGER shapefiles can be used with a mapcompiler to quickly and easily generate custom and very detailed GIS solutions. Learn about integrating other data with these geographic and demographic data.
