In the years 2007 -2008 the Dutch water company Dunea developed a company wide architecture for spatial data based on an Oracle database and ArcGIS as well as Smallworld based clients.
For further system integration we needed to update our vision on GEO ICT in combination with other ICT systems. A roadmap was created for achieving our business goals such as: Performance management of our field services, higher goals on asset management (AM), process transparency in customer care, new legislation on managing the subsurface infrastructure and better water quality assurance. This presentation will give you insight in how IT and AM departments perform in typical circumstances in the Netherlands where infrastructure must face up to the highest standards in a busy subsurface. Also the recent and expected developments such as application of augmented reality techniques, maintaining a common operational picture, and cooperation within the water sector are addressed.
