CSX Transportation sought a mobile GIS framework powerful and flexible enough to solve field data collection needs in an extended enterprise environment covering 20,000 miles of railroad assets in 23 states.

Using ArcGIS Server and the ArcGIS Mobile components as the basis of the framework, CSX Technology has developed a client / server solution capable of supporting the daily field data collection needs of its internal business partners.

This presentation will cover the combination of software, hardware and network solutions CSX Technology combined to create a system capable of bringing the day-to-day use of ArcGIS Mobile enabled devices to a reality.
