NHD Update Process Improvements

The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Update Process is a suite of software tools, data transaction processes, procedures, and standards that facilitate the maintenance, editing and updating of NHD data by designated NHD data stewards and partners. The tools for the NHD Update Process are currently maintained by the USGS National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC). Enhancements and updates are required for continued support and growth of the NHD stewardship program. Specific requirements for enhancements to the NHD Update Process have been requested from the NHD Advisory Committee and are based on feedback from NHD steward and partner community. The NHD Update Process improvements will stream-line and lower the complexity for the entire process and enable the stewardship program to reach out to a much broader audience not only addressing the "experts" but also addressing part time or "knowledgeable " users.
