New technology has changed the GIS landscape in local government. Presenting GIS data and functionality to the public is now a 'must' not just a 'bonus'. Internally, GIS serves multiple purposes: From reducing staff time, better allocation of resources and good for the environment to reducing costs and obtaining constituent's input.

What advantage did GIS give you?
GIS technology allows government officials to stay informed, constituents to interact with data and departments to analyze their workflows.

Using rich-environment web services has provided new avenues in sharing and presenting data.

This presentation will detailed the multiple components needed to move a local government enterprise GIS into a path of success.
