Marietta, GA uses esri ArcGIS Server technology as the Common Operational Picture (COP) in their Crisis Management Center. In Marietta when there is an event (flood, tornado, parade, etc.) the crisis management center is stood up. All key agencies/departments meet in the crisis management center to manage the event. The crisis management team is comprised of many critical departments in the city such as: utilities, fire, police, IT, mayor's office, etc. The city's GIS manager's vision was two-fold; first to create a COP to be used when managing events, second, for the city's analysts and other employees to leverage the capabilities of the COP in their day to day tasks. The final solution is a flex-based COP built on esri's ArcGIS Server platform and features some of the new capabilities offered at the version 10 release (e.g., feature service).
